Taste
The 2011 Pink Floyd the Dark Side of the Moon Cabernet Sauvignon is a very heavy wine, rich with notes of chocolate, vanilla, and cherry. This unique wine complemented a steak dinner very nicely, while I listened to Pink Floyd's Dark Side of the Moon. I greatly enjoyed the mouth feel of this win, it has a silky smooth buttery texture that melted in my mouth. The berry notes of currants and cherry blended seamlessly with the more earthen flavors of oak and chocolate. This wine has great legs and an excellent dark hue that led me to have a second glass with dinner. For a newer winery that I haven't tried very many vintages from, I was extremely impressed with the quality in this cabernet. This makes a great wine to serve with red meat for a large occasion, or for late night entertaining by the fireplace. This is the type of wine that makes you want to cuddle up under a blanket and enjoy a good book, it is truly an excellent experience.
Value
For less than $20 I was astounded at the value in the 2011 Pink Floyd the Dark Side of the Moon Cabernet Sauvignon from Wines that Rock. Especially since I am very picky about my cabernets, I was very impressed with both the flavor and feel of this wine. Full bodied and satisfying, this 2011 Pink Floyd the Dark Side of the Moon Cabernet Sauvignon was much better than many $35 or $40 cabernets I have had recently and it was only half the price. With such a powerful album cover on the wine I was very worried that Wines that Rock was simply using an iconic symbol to sell the wine. Regardless of what is on the label, this wine stands on it's own merit. If you are looking for a great under priced cabernet to stock your cellar the 2011 Pink Floyd the Dark Side of the Moon Cabernet Sauvignon is what you are looking for.
