Updated on October 26, 2016

It is so Easy, and Delicious!

Being a student in college or university and living on your own makes it hard to find time to cook proper meals. Also being that, "always on the go" parent makes it difficult to have time to cook a meal for your entire family. You often find yourself loading up on KD, pizza, soup, etc. Well, here is a quick and simple resolution to your improper meal issue. This chicken parm recipe is extremely easy, and tastes amazing.

Source

What You Need:

  • 1 egg
  • 1/4 cup of milk
  • boneless and skinless chicken breast
  • bread crumbs
  • olive oil
  • 3/4 jar of tomato sauce
  • mozzarella cheese
  • parmesan cheese

Length of Time

Prep: 10-15 minutes

Stove Top Cook: 10-15 minutes

Oven: 40 minutes

Prep:

You want to start by grabbing two medium sized bowls and a plate. In the first bowl mix the egg and the 1/4 cup of milk together. In the second bowl pour in bread crumbs, the amount depends on how many chicken parm's you are making, two cups for six breasts usually suffices.

You can put all of the breasts in the bowl of egg at once, or do one at a time. Turn the breasts over in the first bowl to make sure every part of the breast has been covered. Once the breast is covered with the egg and milk, immediately transfer it to the bowl with bread crumbs. Roll the chicken around in the bread crumbs to make sure the entire breast is covered, then transfer it to the plate.

First Cook: Stove Top

Start by grabbing a pan and setting the stove top to medium-high. Add olive or vegetable oil to the pan until the bottom is covered. Carefully put the chicken breasts onto the pan, or as many as you can fit. Let the chicken simmer on the pan flipping occasionally. When the bread crumbs turn a gold/light brown colour than you can take them off of the pan and put them into a glass baking pan.

Second Cook: Oven

Set the oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C). While oven is warming, put all of the chicken breasts into a glass pan. Cover the breasts with tomato sauce, I usually use about 3/4 of the jar. After covering the breasts with the sauce, sprinkle shredded mozzarella cheese over the breasts, the amount does not matter.

Place the pan into the oven and let cook for 40 minutes, the sauce should be bubbling.

When the chicken is finished cooking, complete the dish by sprinkling parmesan cheese over all of the breasts.
