Angie's Sweet & Spicy Popcorn

As I glanced over the bags of popcorn at a health and fine food store, I was struck by the words spicy & sweet. I like sweet and occasionally some spice, so I picked up the bag and began investigating. Sweet and spicy kettle corn? Paprika, cumin, and cayenne? I had never seen a popcorn like this! As intrigued as I was, I knew I had to give it a try. If I didn't like it, my kids would probably eat it and I knew I never had to buy it again.

That night before opening the bag, I figured this would be a great popcorn to review. So I started taking pictures with my iPhone and was eager to take the first bite. The first bite caught me by surprise, it was spicy with no hint of sweetness. I could definitely taste the cumin and cayenne, two spices that I like, but was confused that the "sweet" was nowhere to be found. I decided to try another piece. The second piece was much better and had a great mix of sweet and spicy.

I poured some in a bowl and then ate another piece, then five, then ten, you get the picture. My bowl was almost empty and I was craving more. It was so good! My two youngest children enjoyed two servings and although they thought it was spicy, they gladly ate it and kept a cup of water nearby. Now mind you, they are two and four, so it wasn't too spicy for them. It had the perfect "kick" with a slight sweet flavor that surprised your taste buds. We enjoyed the popcorn so much that it only lasted us less than a day! Read on as I share nutritional information, pictures, and where you can find this wonderful popcorn.

This brand can be tough to find and I just started seeing it here in Georgia within the last year or two. Take care and enjoy your day!

P.S. I am Georgia Rose on Bubblews, although I am no longer writing there. Hope to check out some of your articles here when I get a chance. I've been gone awhile from Hubpages and want to start writing more reviews and recipes here. See you around! :)

VVanNess- great idea! I've never made any popcorn recipes, so that would definitely be new territory for me!

I'm trying to branch out with my articles by adding more pictures to reviews, recipes, etc. I am a visual person and enjoy pictures more than words. We'll see how it goes, but it seems to be quite popular now that Pinterest and other visual boards are so popular. Thanks so much for stopping by. Hope you have a wonderful day!

sound good and yummy. Too bad we don't have these popcorn in our country. Next time I would make a review of my favorite titbits and have it publish at HP too. Great hub

Very cute! I love how you saw an opportunity for a Hub and started taking pictures. Lol I've got so many pictures on my phone for potential Hubs right now.

I wonder if it's possible to make something like this on your own. I mean, you have the ingredients right? That would mean you don't have to spend the money and can have it as often as you and your family would like. An idea for another Hub?

      Thanks for the great Hub!
