Best Name Brand Items to Buy on Ebay

Updated on March 7, 2013

What are the best name brand items to buy on ebay? There are some great brand name items that you can find at a great discount on ebay, and then there are some other items that are not worth it at all. I have bought my share of products on e-bay and I have sold many items too. It can be very risky sometimes purchasing an item from e-bay, in particular, from sellers you do not know that may live very far away.

ANY home party purchase! I know this from when I use to dabble in the home party business. The top home party products that you can get on Ebay for great prices are Pampered Chef, Silpada Jewelry, Tupperware, Tastefully Simple, Lia Sophia Jewelry and Discovery Toys. Many of these products are there because consultants are no longer in business and want to get rid of their inventory. The prices are less expensive then the book price because they have either been earned for free or purchased at a discounted price to begin with. How do I know? Because I did this myself!

Pampered Chef Products

For example if you look at the Pampered Chef website the wonderful, very well made and extremely beautiful Executive 7 piece Non-Stick Cookware Item #2862 would cost you from the Pampered Chef website: $450.00 plus an approximate shipping cost of $49.50 for a whoping $499.50!! Or you can purchase it on ebay BRAND NEW for anywhere between $300 to $400 with free shipping in some cases! here s also a brand new white ceramic Pampered Chef cookware line! You can already find these items on ebay as well! I will also say though for those of you who like to party. You can also save by going to a Pampered Chef home party hosted by friends or family. You would save at least $40 on shipping and if it is featured as a monthly special you could save there too, sometimes up to 60% off! If you are brave enough to host a party (which I love to do) then many times you could get this item even cheaper then you would on ebay. Hosting a party, if you like that sort of thing, is still the best way to save money on these great items!

Silpada Jewelry

Another example is Silpada jewelry. I think the company's jewelry is very well made and really fashionable but it is pricey. The beautiful sterling silver cross pendant necklace N0557 retails for $139.00 on Silpada website with shipping between $5 - $18, but on ebay has sold for between $70 and $100 with or without free shipping. Again, you can definitely save money buying from e-bay, however you can also save money by hosting a party! Silpada gives great discounts depending upon the sales at your party. There is also the question of whether or not the item has been used or not. It is not as easy to tell with jewelry especially if there are no tags, as it is with an item bought from Pampered Chef. That is why if you are the one selling it it is just better to be honest. People purchase used items too.

Tupperware! Ever gone to a Tupperware party and thought "WOW! This is expensive! It is just tupperware." With tupperware though you get what you pay for. If you want your food to last getting good tupperware is important and nowadays it does so much more than that! I tried to buy the knock offs in the grocery store but after a couple of uses it doesn't work so well anymore. So...if you are into tupperware, ebay can help! You can save some money and still get that brand new tupperware product. For example, the Tupperware set of Modular MatesĀ® Super Set on the Tupperware website would cost you $94.00 plus shipping. On the ebay site you can get this set brand new for a lower price ($50 - $70) many times with FREE shipping!

Some of the items I have not had very good luck purchasing from E-bay are kid's clothes, kid's halloween costumes, and electronics. Others though have had a great experiences with these items. I have found some great buys on Pottery Barn and Pottery Barn kids items too. Hope this article is helpful to those of you interested in purchasing from E-bay but were not sure what is good to buy! Happy Shopping!!!!

Thank you for your comments tammyswallow! I bought my little boy 2 pairs of jeans once and the sizing was completely off - definitely not made right. Thought I was getting a bargain but not so much! Thanks again!

Great suggestions! I will have to check out these vendors. I have had bad experiences with car parts, kids clothes, and books. I have a few trusted vendors that I shop with regularly because I know what I am getting.

Great advice, thanks! I usually check at least two sites before purchasing most items online anymore.

The only problem I have with eBay is that I hate bidding on stuff, but they have some great items just like Amazon.
