Best restaurants in Washington, D.C.
My favorite restaurants in Washington, DC are as follows. (They are less to moderately expensive)
1. Paper Moon
Located in the Georgetown area, Paper Moon offers mostly Italian fare. You will be given a fresh bread basket with butter at the start of the meal and choices of wines and other drinks. The menu consists of lots of extremely tasty pasta dishes, some of the best I have ever had. The sauces are very rich. The fettucine alfredo is my favorite.
2. Malaysia Kopitiam
Located right around 18th and M Street, Malaysia Kopitiam is terrific. The food is savory and you will never be disappointed. At some restaurants, I identify a favorite dish and stick with it everytime I go to that restaurant because that particular dish is just the best they have to offer in my opinion. That is not the case at Malaysia Kopitiam. I have been able to try many different dishes there and enjoyed them all immensely.
Some examples are lamb curry, salted fish, and roti.
3. Vantage Point Restaurant (a rooftop restaurant right over the bridge in Rosslyn, VA)
If you love a good steak or prime rib, you will love Vantage Point restaurant. The prime rib is my favorite dish to get there but you can also order salmon and healthier fare. I love Vantage Point restaurant the most for its ambience. It is a rooftop restaurant with huge windows on all sides, overlooking the city. You can't beat that.
4. [good ole] Cheesecake Factory
I really love the Cheesecake Factory and I miss it since I no longer live close to one. For casual dining perhaps after a movie date, this restaurant is excellent. They seem to have got it all right. Both the dinners and the desserts are amazing. You can get a variety of options for type of food including Tex-Mex which seems to be featured a lot in the appetizers such as the quesadillas and southwestern egg rolls. The cheesecake desserts are available in many varieties.
