Black Cherry Vanilla Yogurt Smoothie
Summertimes past, my family always ended having cherries in the house and was truly a staple for our house. I remember as a child probably about 5 or 6 years old our neighbor two doors down from us had a cherry tree in her backyard. She was an elderly woman and could not get up into the tree to pick these cherries. She took a liking to my dad, who always would lend a helping hand to a neighbor in need. My dad ended up scaling her tree and picking the cherries from this neighbor's tree for her. For my dad's time and trouble, this lady gave my dad a share of the cherries picked. This actually became a ritual every year for the next few years and we always ended up with fresh cherries in our house picked from this tree. These cherries were so delicious and I will never forget them. I always ended up eating my fair share of course too.
Flash forward to when I first met my husband almost 10 years ago and he too had a love of cherries and this was one of his favorite things to eat also as a small child. Whenever we ordered dessert from ices to ice cream, he would always order something that was mixed with some sort of cherries. When we first started to make smoothies from the smoothie maker purchased for my bridal shower, this recipe was one of the first we tried, because of our shared love for cherries. Well lo and behold, this one was loved by us both and we now make it quite often and yet again even our children love this one and drink it with us now too.

Summing It Up...
For the record, this one truly is very easy and inexpensive to make by the way. For the frozen cherries, I usually buy the store brand in the freezer aisle, they are reasonably priced and are pretty tasty. Also, when buying the yogurt and frozen yogurt, I always get whatever is on sale. The prep and mix time truly is less than 5 minutes and you end getting a very delicious drink to enjoy. By the way for the price and the ease of making, I end up getting to relive my childhood summers with this one too. So from our house to yours, I do hope you will also get to try to enjoy this smoothie too.

Dedicated to...
This one is dedicated to my dad, who always extends a helping hand to whoever is in need and it is because of him that my love of cherries in particular was cultivated. Thanks dad!!
