Buy Cupcakes Online!

Updated on January 21, 2011

Last week I was racking my brain to think of what to get my one of my best girlfriends for her birthday, and I came up with the idea of buying cupcakes online. She is EXTREMELY difficult to shop for, because she has picky tastes and she owns every designer bag already! Plus, I was a bit strapped for cash, it being post-holidays and all. I decided to get her delicious cupcakes delivered to her work! Not only would it give her a quick break from a job she hates, but it shows my appreciation for her friendship.

The best part about gifting cupcakes? You can personalize it for cheap or for no extra cost. Choose her favorite colors for the frosting, and get the "bakers" to write a message. I went for an online cupcake shop, just because I didn't have much time to go cupcake hunting, my car was trapped in 7 inches of snow, and doing things online is so much more convenient!

I loved this site because it had that old vintage poster feel. Their cupcakes come in minis, cupcakes and big ones! They are located in Vancouver, Canada. They feature cupcake flavors such as Blue Hawaii, Mochamotion and LavaFlow. Aren't the names adorable? They also do weddings and cakes!

Prices: Minis: $1.25, Dozen Minis: $13.00

Cupcakes: $3.25, Dozen Cupcakes: $29.95 (These may be in Canadian Dollars!)

Sas Cupcakes has cupcakes for every and any occasion. I was extremely tempted by their "pink cupcake collection". All their seasonal and signature cupcake collections are gorgeously decorated. They feature a number of cupcake flavors for each day of the week. Sunday features lemon, cinnamon toast, and red velvet amongst others!

Prices: Per Collection: $49.95 (shipped)

In store: $36.00

Babycakes is probably my favorite on this list. They are extremely unique because all of their cupcakes are free of refined sugar, gluten free, soy free, and vegan!? The cupcakes are all sweetened by agave nectar, so the treats really are guilt free! Babycakes also sell other delish baked goods such as scones, cookie sandwiches and tea cakes! The store looks adorable!

Prices: Spelt cupcake $3.25 (dairy, egg, soy free)

Gluten-Free cupcake $3.95 (gluten, dairy, egg, soy free)

Teacakes makes beautiful and cute cupcakes. They do monogram cupcakes, birthday cupcakes and baby shower cupcakes as well! Teacake bake shops are all around the San Francisco area. They also do cookies and other small baked goods!

Prices: 9 count cupcakes: $45

I of course want to support my local economy, and cupcake station has amazing cupcakes! The cupcakes are baked 100% from scratch and the flavors change all the time, which I need because I have an ADD personality! I personally recommend the red velvet, what's up doc (carrot cake) and the caramel mocha latte. Cupcake station has 2 locations, both in Michigan.

Prices: 1 cupcake $2.75
2-11 cupcakes $2.50 each
12-99 cupcakes $2.25 each
100+ cupcakes $2.10 each
Jumbo cupcakes $5.00 each
Mini cupcakes $1.35 each
100+ Mini's $1.10

Gma: I agree, cupcakes are really hot right now. I also LOVE dark chocolate. But for cupcakes, I'm very into red velvet right now!

I didn't know you were on a diet, in that case, perhaps cupcakes are a no-no!

      Thanks for reading!

Cupcakes are hot! I think they may give ice cream shops a run for their money. I adore a dark chocolate cup cake!

I wish I had the links to quickly review the websites for shopping.

Oh, makes me hungry but I must stick to my diet!

Thank you for a delightful treat!
