Cadillac Chilli
Ingredients
- 1 1/2 pounds (680 g) Lean ground beef
- 2 pounds (910 g) Chilling ground beef
- 1 Vidalia Onion, Chopped
- 2 tablespoons Olive oil
- 1 (15 ounce) can (425 g) Tomato sauce
- 1 (10 ounce) can (280 g) Tomatoes and green chillies, Diced
- 4 tablespoons (25 g) Cumin, Ground
- 1 teaspoon (5 ml) Oregano, Rough chop
- 2 tablespoons (15 g) Chilli powder
- 1 (15 ounce) can (425 g) Pinto beans, With liquid
Instructions
- Combine meats, onion, and add in the olive oil in a large roasting pan and brown.
- Add tomato sauce, tomatoes and green chillies, cumin, oregano, chilli powder, 2 cups (500 ml) water and a little salt. More if you like.
- Bring to a boil, reduce heat and simmer for 2 hours
- Add beans and heat until thoroughly hot.
Cook Time
Chef's advice
Garnish each bowl with a tablespoon of chedder cheese. For the spicy fans, dice 4 large Jalapenos wearing gloves. If you like it really hot, add in the seeds and diced jalapenos once the chilli has finished cooking. On a low flame, stir in gradually Incorporating the peppers over a low flame.
