Carrot Burfi

Burfi is an Indian sweet dessert.

Prep. Time: 20 mins

Cooking Time: 15–20 mins

Serves: 10


Carrot - ½ kg

Sugar - 250g

All purpose flour – 100g

Ghee or fat - 100g

Gram flour - 50g

Cardamom - 3

Cashew - 10-15g


Grate the carrots. Heat the ghee or fat in a frying pan and heat the grated carrot for 5 minutes. Add crushed cardamom, 2 tbsp ghee or fat, 1 cup sugar and mix well. Gradually add the flours and stir for 5- 10 mins. Transfer into a greased plate or tray and allow it to cool. Slice into squares or diamond shapes and serve.

Note: Can decorate it with silver foil (edible) or cashews or almonds or pistachios, etc.
