Cheese Ball Recipe for the Holiday Season

Bleu Cheese and Cream Cheese Appetizer Recipe

Hope you all enjoy sharing and making this delicious recipe.

Let's get cooking!!!!!!

Ingredients:

11 oz Philadelphia Cream Cheese

1- Small container(8oz) Crumbled Bleu Cheese

1/4 Cup of Red Bell Pepper (chopped)

1/4 Cup of Green Bell Pepper (chopped)

1 1/2 Cups Toasted Walnuts (chopped)

1 1/2 tsp. Garlic Powder or to taste

You will need, a cookie sheet, one large mixing bowl, one large knife for chopping or a food processor, fork, butter knife and a plate or cutting board.

AND SOME AMOUNT OF PATIENCE.

Directions:

Set oven to bake at 350 degrees. Place walnuts on a cookie sheet and bake in Pre-heated oven for 3 to 5 minutes.

Rinse Bell Peppers in clean cold water. About one quarter(take the seeds of the bell peppers out and throw them away) of each bell pepper in enough to make 1/4 cup chopped bell pepper. The reason behind both the Red and Green Bell Peppers is to give the Cheese Ball a Holiday look to it. CHRISTMAS COLORED CHEESE BALL. YUM!

Chop the red and green bell pepper in a food processor or by hand. I like to use a food processor and make them more of a minced ingredient. It adds a bit of the bell peppers juices throughout the appetizer.

DID YOU FORGET THE WALNUTS? ABOUT TIME TO TAKE THEM OUT OF THE OVEN. HOPEFULLY YOU DIDN'T BURN THEM. I have enough times myself so don't feel bad if you did. Just throw them out and toast some more of them.

Next we will mix the prepared ingredients. In a large mixing bowl add softened cream cheese, bleu cheese, garlic, red and green bell pepper. Using a fork mix the ingredients together thoroughly.

Now, with the butter knife you need to start to shape it into a ball formation. Just take the knife around the sides of the bowl and scrape the ingredients into the center of the bowl. Kinda like a snowball. Form the mixture into the center of the bowl so its in the shape of a snowball. See it kinda looks like a snowball,

Next you will need to cover the bowl with seran wrap and set it inside the refrigerator over night or at the very least 3 to 4 hours. If you let it sit overnight it will soak up the flavors of all the ingredients.

The walnuts are next. Chop the walnuts in a food processor or by hand on a cutting board. Pour chopped walnuts onto cutting board or plate. Carefully remove prepared cheese ball and set it onto of the walnuts and roll the cheese ball mixture around so the entire cheese ball is covered in walnuts. It will be easy to form it more into a ball shape as you roll it into the nuts. Garnish with a maraschino cherry on the top center.

Serve on top of your favorite crackers.
