Christmas Season brings on the urge for a good Egg Nogg, just seems like something in a frosty day that brings it out of its summer hibernation. Here is an easy Chocolate flavored Eggnog recipe from “The Cupboard Drawer”. For the Chocoholics out there, this gives the eggnog a real smooth taste; and of course you can “spice” (or spike depends on your inclination), to your individual taste, Nutmeg is a good place to start with non alcoholic, or shaving some Hard Dark Chocolate (80% Cocoa or higher) but I prefer a good rum to elevate it to an adult only drink. 1 qt Eggnog
6 oz Hershey Chocolate Syrup
¼ Cup Crème de Cocoa
1 Cup Whipping Cream
Chocolate Curls if desired
- In a bowl combine the eggnog, Chocolate Syrup, and Crème de Cocoa; mix well cover and chill.
- Just before serving beat the whipping cream to soft peaks, reserve approx ½ cup for garnish.
- Fold the remaining whipped cream into the eggnog mixture.
- Ladle into serving glasses and dollop with the reserved whipped cream and garnish with Chocolate Curls.
