Chunky Guacamole Recipe with Habanero Peppers

Updated on January 13, 2011

Habanero peppers add a little kick, and bring the ingredients of this chunky guacamole recipe together wonderfully! Serve this recipe as a dip with tortilla chips for a tailgate or cocktail party, or try it as a condiment for your favorite Mexican dish!

Ingredients (makes 1 quart of guacamole)

  • 4 avocados; peeled, seeded, and mashed coarsely
  • 4 Roma tomatoes with seeds removed, and chopped fine
  • 2 habanero peppers; seeded and chopped fine
  • 1/2 of a medium sized red onion; chopped fine
  • 2 oz. lime juice
  • 1 oz. olive oil
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • 3 minced cloves of garlic

  1. In a bowl mix together tomatoes, olive oil, lime juice, red onion, garlic, salt, and pepper.
  2. Slowly stir in the avocados.
  3. Using plastic wrap, cover the bowl so that the film is touching the surface of the guacamole.
  4. Refrigerate for 30-60 minutes before serving.

Delicious and flavorful fnililg, but a bit too spicy and I only used 1/2 tsp of the cayenne. A big hit with the family, including my 5 year old, but next time will only use about 1/4 tsp of cayenne. Will definitely be on our Mexican rotation!

I love anything made with avocados. I sprinkle avocados with a little salt, and eat them whole. Your Chunky Guacamole recipe sounds delicious, and I will serve it on our next taco night.

Sounds delicious! I grow Habaneros every summer, and I am always looking for new recipes to try with them. I love advocados, so I'll print this recipe out, and make some guacamole with my habanero peppers in the summer.
