Coconut Rice Preparation
Coconut Rice or Thenkai Saadam is a South Indian recipe and can be prepared with leftover rice also. Basmati rice is preferred but we can make it with ordinary rice as well. Given below is the recipe for this wonderful rice dish.
Ingredients
- 4 Cups of Cooked Rice
- 1 Cup grated Coconut
- 2 tsp Ghee
- 1/2 tsp black gram dhal
- Cashew nuts/Peanuts
- 2 Red Chillies put into 2 pieces
- Curry leaves
- 2 pinch Asafoetida powder
- Coriander leaves
- 1 tsp Oil
- Salt to taste
Method of Preperation
Fry the grated Cocunut and Cashew nuts one after the other in a Kadai till golden color and keep aside. Heat Oil and fry the dry chillies, black gram dhal, and curry leaves. Remove from flame and add all the ingredients to the Kadai and mix well. Serve hot with Papad and Pickle.
