Creamy Ginger Cookies

1/4 Cup Of Shortening

3/4 cup of Sugar

1 egg

1/3 cup Molasses

2 Cups of All purpose Flour

1tsp ground ginger

1/2 tsp Baking Soda

1/2 Tsp salt

1/2 tsp Ground Cinnaon

1/2 tsp ground cloves

1/3 cup water


In a large mixing bowl, Cream shortening and sugar. Beat in the egg and molasses. Combine the flour,Ginger,Baking soda,salt,cinnamon nd cloves. Gradually add to creamed mixture alternately with water, Dough will be soft.

Drop by heaping tsp's 2 inch apart onto greased baking sheets. Bake at 400 degree's for 7-8 minutes or until the tops crack. Remove to wire racks to cool.



1 1/2 ounces cream cheese, Softened.

3 tbsps.butter Softened

1 cup plus 3 tbsp's Confectioner sugar. (10X)

3/4 tsp vanilla extract.

1 1/2 tsp lemon juice.

Directions For Frosting:

In a small mixing bowl Beat the cream cheese and butter and 10X until light and fluffy. Beat in the vanilla and enough lemon juice to achieve spreading consistency. Frost cookies. Store in the refrigerator.

Yields around 5 dozen cookies.
