Dark Chocolate Helps Memory
Bring It On!
Did you know that according to numerous scientific studies, dark chocolate (not the milk chocolate variety) is actually good for your brain and circulatory system? There was a recent study conducted at the Gorgas Hospital in Panama, Panama. The well known cardiologist and Director of the Hospital, Dr. J. Motta, was involved in the study that determined this, but I had already read about a similar study conducted last year at a Universtity here in the United States. The conculsions were the same.
Dark chocolate is full of flavonoids, which are substances/anti-oxidants that are in plants that help them quickly repair themselves when hurt, make them resistant to damage and also protect them from toxins in the environment. According to the Journal of the American Botanical Council, issue 75, pp 22-24, these flavonoids are also protective against cardiovascular disease. Studies have also been done at the Heinrich Heine University in Germany. The conculsions there were that there was a substantial reduction in blood pressure when ingesting dark chocolate. The good cholesterol was raised and the bad cholesterol was reduced. It even helps with diahrrea. Remember that next time you are having troubles.
So, my friend, get yourself a big bar of dark chocolate, especially if you have to take an academic test. It improves brain circulation, they say. So maybe an hour before a stressful test, go get yourself a large bar of dark chocolate. Be assured, the chocolate, according to the studies, improves the circulation of blood to the brain. But not only that, chocolate brings on a feeling of euphoria, of contentment in me. How about you? Does it do anything for you? I hope you like it as well. You might not like the dark variety, but I think one can learn to eat it. It's an aquired taste. So, bring on the flavonoids! Chocolate is something that I really enjoy!
Dark Chocolate - Good For You
Important - Watch For Harmful Ingredients
Important! There are chocolates that have hydrogenated oils or partially hydrogenated oils. As we all know, and/or if you didn't know, these are extremely harmful to us and cause health problems. Godiva chocolates have partially hydrogenated oils in them and so do Whitman's. Stay away from them. Always read the labels before ingesting anything.
