Delicious Barbecue Pork Recipe

If you have a large slow cooker or crock pot you can prepare delicious pork barbecue that will have your family and friends wondering how you produced pork barbecue this delicious.

You will want to purchase a raw not smoked pork shoulder that will fit easily into your large slow cooker or crock pot. You want to trim the excess fat off your pork shoulder but be sure to leave some fat for flavor.

In the bottom of your slow cooker place a thin layer of thinly sliced onions. Then place your pork shoulder which should weigh about 4-6 pounds on top of your bed of onions. Now take beef broth and fill the crock pot halfway up the meat and pour two regular size bottles of your favorite store bought barbecue sauce on top of your pork shoulder. Take a spoon and spread the barbecue sauce all over the top of the pork shoulder.

Turn your crock pot or slow cooker to high and cook the pork shoulder on high for eight hours after the pot gets hot. At the end of the cooking time drain off all the liquid and place your pork shoulder out on a tray and remove any skin or excess fat. Using a couple of forks shred your pork and place it back into the drained crock pot. Turn the crock pot back on high and pour in a bottle of your favorite barbecue sauce. It will take 1-2 hours to heat your pork thoroughly in your slow cooker or crock pot. If you need to get it hot quicker just place your shredded pork and barbecue sauce in a large baking pan and heat thoroughly.

Serve on buns with Cole Slaw for some really delicious sandwiches. Add potato chips for a complete light meal.
