What is Best For Your Health Goals: Diet or Exercise?

Diet and exercise go really well with each other. They both are crucial for your well-being and waistline. Here the strategy is the amount of calorie intake should be less than the number of calories burnt. This does not mean that you should starve yourself instead, you should eat foods that are high in fiber, high in protein and low in carbs to burn fat and build muscle mass. The foremost rule of a perfect diet is not skipping the breakfast. Kick-start your metabolism with a healthy and heavy breakfast no matter what it is. A healthy startup can save you from choosing wrong foods for the entire day! Moreover, it plays a key role in maintaining a healthy body weight.

What Actually is Meant By a Healthy Diet?

A healthy diet provides the body with all the essential vitamins, minerals and nutrients. It is all about eating smart and enjoying the food. A healthy diet not only promotes good health but also helps in maintaining the mood. Numbers and figures are all very well, but see that it does not take over your interests. One should focus on a balanced diet. It plays a pivotal role in maintaining ideal body weight.

Body Types And How They Are Effected By Exercise And Diet

Every person has a different genetic trait. Every piece of advice you receive of weight loss must be applied against the knowledge of your own metabolism, endurance, body strength and muscle structure. Body types can be generally classified into 3 major types:

  • Ectomorph: People with this body type find it difficult to gain muscle mass even though they can eat piles of food and stay looking the same. They can gain muscular strength, but gaining weight can be a hard task.
  • Mesomorph: The mesomorph has a middle-of-the-road-build that takes best of both worlds. They have a natural tendency to stay fit and relatively muscular. But it does not mean they can get away with it forever. They can easily get out of shape. However, gaining muscle mass and burning fat is comparatively easy in this case.
  • Endomorph: The endomorph tends to gain weight and keep it on. They have more muscle mass when compared to other two groups. They can be a lot more healthy and fit due to their more muscle mass. But if they decide to lean out they can find it tough!

  • Smoothies: Smoothies are simply fantastic. They can be included in any of your meals. The best part about this is you can throw in all kind of fruits and vegetables and the result will almost be amazing. They provide the body with the required amount of fibrous and fluid material.
  • Salads: The first thought which might strike your mind as soon as you hear the word salad is the raw fibrous material which includes uncooked veggies and regular seasoning. Now the trend is changed! Tasty and delicious salad dressings are on the top of the world.
  • Dessert Recipes: To finish a meal on a sweet note the best choice is filling the tiny part of the stomach with a rich dessert. Desserts made with unexpected ingredients such as oats, avocado, jalapeno etc., are hitting the market.

Should We Eat Before and After Exercise?

What you eat matters the most to make your next workout better. Eating right can help boost the energy levels. Quality carbs, lean protein, healthy fats, and fluids are all that you need. Taking a meal before exercise is a must. Instead focus on 5 things namely low fiber, low carbs, high fluid content, and moderate in protein. The major portion of our body accompanies fluids which is a known fact. But is it correct to take plenty of water at a time as soon as you take a break from your workout? No. One should be really conscious about this. This may lead to choking or even death. Always remember, during a workout fluid intake should be in less quantity.

After exercising taking protein is a good idea. It helps in the recovery and growth of muscles. But here care should be taken in selecting the protein source as your muscle only cares where it comes from but does not bother about calories (protein from chocolate shake or protein bar). After workout body requires only 10-20 grams of protein.
