Dining in at the Ilang-Ilang Chinese Restaurant, the oldest in Manila
The Oldest Restaurant in Manila
Located at Ilang Ilang St. Binondo, the oldest restaurant's location is quite not easy to find. But the place was never a hindrance for its popularity. If you want authentic chinese cuisine, I definitely recommend this one.
I was born and spent 20 years of my life in Sampaloc, my father loves Chinese Cuisine and If can only ask him now, why Ilang ilang restaurant looks so familiar to me, maybe he can confirm to me that this is the same place where we usually dined in when I was a little girl and even up to my teenage years.
So this latest dining experience of mine is another trip along memory lane
My Favorite Nido Soup
I can't remember the last time I tasted this authentic Chinese Soup. But as far as I can remember whenever my family ate at the restaurant, this NIdo Soup was always included in our list because of me... This is so good... I may not be aware when to return to Ilang Ilang restaurant but at least they now accept delivery, so I can order it anytime...
The Pancit Canton that I used to know
This pancit canton was common in our house when I was a little girl, father always brought this home for mother and I used to dislike it, when I saw it the first time again after so many years, it was then I realized how delicious it is.... I will definitely return for this pancit canton nto only because of its good authentic taste but because of the precious memories the goes along with it...
other chinese food
Other food in our buffet were the Fried Chicken, Sweet and Sour Pork, Chop suey, and Shrimp Relleno. I would like also to recommend the original Chinese Kikiam, patatim, patotim and camarong rebusado (not in the picture but the common chinese food that I always heard from my father).
