Updated on September 14, 2016

Apple Crumb Cake

Got too many apples?

I LOVE apples, cinnamon, and cake so this one is a favorite "Go-To" for me when needing a yummy but easy and quick dessert for supper or to take to a pot luck.

1 Yellow cake mix
1/3 C. Oil
3 eggs
1 C. Water
4 apples (peeled, cored, and sliced thin)
1 C. Brown Sugar (packed)
1 Tab. Cinnamon
1/2 C. White Sugar
1 C. all-purpose flour
1 1/2 sticks real butter

In a large bowl - add the yellow cake mix, oil and eggs. Mix with hand mixer. Pour into an oiled & floured 9x13 pan.

Place apple pieces on top of cake mix.

In a separate large bowl add the Brown Sugar, White Sugar, Flour, Cinnamon, and butter. Cut with a pastry cutter until resembles crumbs. Spread onto top of cake.

Bake in a 350 degree oven for about 35 minutes or until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean.

This recipe for Apple Crumb Cake is moist, delicious, and will make your WHOLE house smell like grandma's kitchen. An ultimate comfort food and will become one of your family's favorites.

No, it's actually a crumb topping on it and the cake bubbled up around it in some places.
