Quick Easy Chicken Strips Recipe

Wondering what to make for dinner tonight? Try these simple and delicious chicken strips! These are sure to become one of your favorite go to recipes. I keep frozen boneless, skinless chicken breasts in the freezer and these delicious strips are only minutes away. No need to buy the prepackaged nuggets with their high price tag and artificial ingredients.

I'm a busy mom of 5, so I'm always looking for recipes that are kid friendly, affordable, fast and of course, tasty. This is a great recipe to have the kids help with ... it's always fun to get the kids in the kitchen and cooking as a family. Not only does it provide a wonderful opportunity for some quality time, it teaches them some very useful culinary skills. Kids LOVE helping in the kitchen and when they are part of the process, they take pride in the finished product and are more likely to try new foods. It's a win-win situation for busy families!

PREP: 15 Minutes COOK: 6 Minutes 4 Servings

1/2 cup seasoned dry bread crumbs

1/4 teaspoon salt

1/4 teaspoon garlic powder

1-1/4 pounds boneless skinless chicken breasts, cut into thin strips *

1 egg, beaten

2 tablespoons margarine, butter or olive oil

* I take frozen chicken breasts directly from the freezer, run them under cold water to remove any ice, then put them in the microwave for about 2 minutes while I gather the other ingredients. The chicken breasts will still be partially frozen, which makes them easy to slice into strips. Pop them back into the microwave for another minute or two and they're ready to bread. Just be sure that you don't start cooking the chicken in the microwave ... you only want to defrost it.

Mix the bread crumbs, salt and garlic. Dip chicken strips into egg, then coat with the bread crumb mixture.
