Best Veggie Dip

My sister in law introduced me to this dip years ago and we make it all the time because it's one of our favorites. Not only is it fast and easy to make but it only has two ingredients.

  • Knorr Vegetable Soup Mix
  • Sour Cream

Open up the container of sour cream and add 3/4 of the package of soup mix. Stir well, transfer to a dip bowl and serve. Make it ahead of time and keep it refrigerated.

This dip can be used with either raw vegetables or with your favorite type of chips.

Spinach Dip

If you've never had this spinach dip you really should try it as it is always welcomed no matter where you serve it. I've taken it to serve at showers, parties, and even wedding receptions.

If you're having a large crowd you may want to make up a double amount as it goes fast and people will be asking for more.

  • 1 package of Vegetable Knorr Soup Mix
  • 1 1/2 cups of frozen spinach drained really well
  • 1 cup of mayonnaise
  • 2 cups of sour cream
  • 1/4 cup - 3/4 cup of chopped green or sweet onion (optional)
  • 1 round pumpernickel bread

Instructions for Spinach Dip

  1. Drain the frozen spinach and squeeze the water by pressing through a colander or press.
  2. In a bowl mix the vegetable soup mix with sour cream, mayonnaise and chopped onion. Mix in the drained spinach and stir well.
  3. Cover and refrigerate at least one hour before serving.
  4. Hollow out the pumpernickel bread leaving a 2 inch shell all the way around. Cut the bread you removed into bite size dipping pieces.
  5. Add the dip to the hollowed out bread shell bowl.
  6. Serve and enjoy!

When all the dip is gone you can still enjoy the bowl that has been soaked in this delicious dip.

Smoked Salmon

The first time I had this my father in law asked me if I like his smoked salmon that he'd made especially for me in is new smoker. Like it, I couldn't stop eating it! For quite a few years I actually believed that he'd made this until one day while talking to his girlfriend I found out that he in fact had been pulling my leg. What a joker. She then proceeded to tell me how she makes this delicious smoked salmon dip using canned salmon.

Mix all of the following ingredients together really well. Place in a bowl lined with lettuce (optional) or refrigerate until ready to serve.

  • 1 large or 2 regular size cans of pink or red salmon (drained)
  • 1 - 1 1/2 cups of cream cheese
  • 1/4 cup of onion chopped very fine
  • 1/2 tsp of garlic powder or garlic salt (optional)
  • fresh ground pepper to taste
  • 1 tsp of liquid smoke

Smoked Salmon Serving Suggestions

  1. Serve with crackers or your favorite bread
  2. Stuff into small pita's
  3. Spread onto tortilla shells with lettuce, roll and cut into bite sized pieces
  4. Use as a vegetable dip

Chipotle Dip

Need a fast dip in a hurry when unexpected guests show up or perhaps you're craving something a little spicy. This dip is delicious with any kind of chips, tortillas, pretzels or veggies.

In a bowl combine the following:

  1. 1/2 cup of mayonnaise
  2. 1/4 cup of sour cream
  3. 4 - 6 good shakes of Chipotle Hot Sauce depending on your taste
  4. Stir and Serve

These are wonderful! My daughter is always asking me to make dip. I usually end up buying one from the refrigerated section in produce because I can't find the packets of seasoning mixes any more. The Hidden Valley Ranch ones have really become expensive here.

I've marked this to try when we go back to the U.S. for vacation this year. I've never heard of the Knorr vegetable mix, but I'm sure it's versatile and can be used for lots of yummy dips. I look forward to trying the vegetable and spinach dip, maybe even the salmon dip. I'd also like to try mixing it with cream cheese for a bagel spread. Voted up and shared! Thanks!

RH, The salmon isn't really a smoked salmon ... it's canned with liquid smoke added to it to make it seem like a smoked salmon :) .... For a treat now and then I buy a piece of smoked salmon from this specialty store I shop at ... It's so good. One of these days I'm going to break down and buy a smoker.

      Have a great Superbowl Sunday!

I may have to use this for Superbowl Sunday! I love the sound of the spinach dip...was just making my list so I could shop tomorrow:). I can get Knorr brand here...I've seen it but never tried it. It's right with all the gravy mixes I think.

That's so funny about your FIl tricking you about the salmon:) lol. Ie never tried smoked salmon so I guess I'm gonna have to!

      GoodLady, Thanks so much!

Prasetio, Thanks and I hope that you enjoy the recipes.

Ruby, I'll have a look around for a good gluten-free bread and when I find it I'll send you the link. I love bread and feel bad for people that have to eat a gluten-free diet. I would miss bread so much.

I love salmon and have it about once a week. I have to be careful. I have Celiac Disease and have to eat a gluten-free diet, so i must watch all sauces. You would be surprised at how many have wheat, barley, or rye, which is a no no for me. What i miss the most is good bread. I wish you could come up with a good gluten- free bread. Thank you...

Paula, What can I say I love to cook :) I'm doing good thanks. A little too busy these days and not enough hours to do everything I want to do.

Thanks so much and it puts a smile on my face when I see you've left a comment on one of my recipe hubs as I know you don't read recipe hubs generally.

Since we have company so often, special occasions and Holidays....and it's usually a BIG crowd.....dips go over extremely well.

Thanks Susan.....Hope you are doing well.....healthy and happy!..UP++
