Easy Recipes For Fruit Salsa!
Turn traditional salsa on its head and try some of these spicy-sweet fruit-based salsa recipes at you next barbecue!
Nothing is more refreshing on a hot summer day than a cool combination of sweet fresh fruit and spicy hot peppers.
Technically, tomatoes are a fruit, so fruit-based salsa is
not really that revolutionary. But many of us who love fresh fruit might not
think to combine other sweet fruits with the spicy heat of chili peppers and
garlic! Following are some recipe ideas for some great flavor combinations to spice up your next summer meal.
Each recipe below uses some form of hot chili pepper, and of course you substitute your favorite pepper for the one listed. Use as much or as little as you like, but don’t leave the peppers out entirely! Then all you'd have is fruit salad…

Six Amazing Fruit Salsa Recipes
The instructions for each recipe are the same:
- Combine all the ingredients and mix them together thoroughly
- Let the mixture rest in the refrigerator for at least 1 hour to let the flavors mingle
- Give the salsa another good stir before serving.
All of these salsas can be served with tortilla chips, or as a topping for your favorite meats! The Mango Salsa, Peach Salsa and Pear Salsa are great with pork or fish; try the Avocado Salsa or Cucumber Salsa alongside a nice steak; and the Watermelon Salsa make a great partner for spicy Cajun or Jerk chicken
Watermelon Salsa
- 3 cups Watermelon, cut into ¼ inch cubes (remove the seeds, or use a seedless melon)
- ¼ cup Cilantro, finely chopped
- 1 Anaheim Pepper, seeded and finely diced
- 1 small Red Onion, diced
- Kosher salt to taste
Avocado Salsa
- 2 Avocados, peeled and chopped into ¼ inch chunks
- 1 tsp fresh Lime Juice
- 1 tsp Lime Zest
- 1 Jalapeño Pepper, seeded and finely diced
- 1 tbls Fresh Mint, finely chopped
- 1 Red Bell Pepper, seeded and finely chopped
- 2 cloves Garlic, minced
- Salt to taste
Peach Salsa
- 6 Peaches, peeled and chopped into ¼ inch chunks
- 3 tbls Fresh Mint, finely chopped
- 1 small Habanero Pepper, seeded and finely diced
- 1 Red Bell Pepper, seeded and finely chopped
- 2 Green Onions, chopped (just use the white and pale green parts)
- 1 tsp Fresh Ginger, grated
Pear, Kiwi & Feta Salsa
- 4 Bosc pears, peeled and chopped into ¼ inch chunks
- 2 Kiwis, peeled and and chopped into ¼ inch chunks
- 1 cup Seedless Grapes, cut into quarters
- ½ cup Crumbled Feta
- 1 tbls Fresh Mint, finely chopped
- 1 Anaheim Pepper, seeded and finely diced
Mango Salsa
- 4 Mangos, peeled and chopped into ¼ inch chunks
- ¼ cup Fresh Cilantro, finely chopped
- 2 Green Onions, chopped (just use the white and pale green parts)
- 1 Serrano Pepper, seeded and finely diced
- 2 tbls Orange Juice
- 1 clove Garlic, minced
Cucumber Salsa
- 2 Cucumbers, peeled, seeded and chopped into ¼ inch chunks
- 1 tbls Fresh Mint, finely chopped
- 1 Green Onion, chopped (just use the white and pale green parts)
- 1 Red Bell Pepper, seeded and finely diced
- 1 Jalapeño pepper, seeded and finely diced
