Easy No-Bake Chocolate Crust Blueberry Pie
Blueberry pie is a popular treat in the summertime, and for fans of chocolate the crust can make or break the dessert! But when you want to avoid using a hot oven to get the dessert made, simple is always preferred. This recipe is easy to make, requires no baking and makes a delicious cool dessert to serve family or friends.
Preparation Time Before Serving
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- 1/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1/3 cup melted butter or margarine
- 1 1/4 cup graham cracker crumbs
- 1 pinch salt
- Combine all ingredients into a large bowl and mix well with rubber or wooden spoon. Press this mixture into 9 inch glass or aluminum pie pan. Chill for at least one hour before adding the filling.
Filling Version 1
8-10 ounces of Kraft Philadelphia brand blueberry cream cheese spread. Generously spoon this spread over the cooled chocolate pie crust and chill for another hour.
Filling Version 2
To make your own spread:
1/3 cup fresh,washed blueberries
1/4 teaspoon sugar
8 ounces whipped cream cheese
Place blueberries and sugar in a bowl and mash gently for about two minutes. Add the whipped cream cheese and mix thoroughly. Chill filling for one half hour. Remove from refrigerator and spoon into your crust. Place the finished pie in the fridge for 30 minutes.
After properly chilled, this pie serves 6-8 people.
