Homemade Salad Dressings.

Try some of these easy recipes for homemade salad dressings. There are many different variations of homemade salad dressing and be sure to get creative by adding your own favorite spices and herbs. The base of the salad dressing is always the same--oil with vinegar or lemon juice.

Use olive oil, avocado oil or grape seed oil. All of these oils are good for your health, tasty and keep well to make these salad dressings.

Ingredients

  • One cup of Olive oil
  • One half cup of cider vinegar or lemon juice
  • One-quarter cup of water
  • One tablespoon each of: tarragon, basil, oregano, salt and pepper
  • One tablespoon of capers
  • One tablespoon of dry parmesan cheese


Directions

  • Put all the ingredients in your blender and blend until it is thoroughly mixed.

Indian Flavor Salad Dressing

Ingredients:

  • One cup of grape seed oil
  • One-half cup of wine vinegar
  • One-quarter cup of water
  • One teaspoon of chile powder
  • One teaspoon of curry powder
  • One garlic clove chopped
  • Two tablespoons of chopped parsley
  • Salt and pepper taste

Blend in the blender until thoroughly mixed and serve over any vegetable salad.

Ingredients:

  • One cup of avocado oil
  • One-half cup of lemon juice
  • One-quarter cup of water
  • One serrano pepper chopped with seeds removed
  • One teaspoon of cumin powder
  • One-quarter cup of chopped cilantro
  • One-half tomato chopped
  • One-half of a small onion chopped

Blend the mixture in the blender until thoroughly mixed. Pour over any vegetable salad.

Make Caesar Salad Dressing

1/2 cup of olive oil

1/4 cup of wine vinegar

2 tablespoons of water

1 small can of anchovies with the oil

1 teaspoon each of oregano, basil, tarragon

1 fresh garlic clove

1/4 cup of dry parmesan cheese

Salt and pepper to taste

Put all the ingredients in the blender and mix until totally smooth.

Remove from the blender and put in a jar with a lid.

Make Blue Cheese Dressing

1/2 Cup of olive oil

1/4 Cup of fresh lemon juice

2 Tablespoons of water

1/4 chopped small onion

1/3 cup of fresh blue cheese

1 teaspoon each of tarragon and thyme

1 teaspoon of seasoned salt

1 teaspoon of black pepper

Blend the ingredients in the blender until smooth.

Remove from the blender and put in a jar with a lid.
