Eat Rice to Boost your Energy and Health. I remember my mother used to tell me to eat rice so that I have the energy to go to school, learn and then I can still play outside. She is correct, the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) stated that rice has health benefits. In fact, according to wikipedia, "rice is the most important grain with regards to human nutrition and caloric intake, providing more than one fifth of the calories consumed worldwide by the human species".

Rice specially the brown rice have the capacity to reduce the killer disease such as heart disease and cholesterol related diseases. According to the USDA since 2008, "brown-rice package labels have been carrying the FDA-approved health claim, “Diets rich in whole-grain foods and other plant foods and low in total fat, saturated fat, and cholesterol may reduce the risk of heart disease and some cancers.”

Rice is the staple food of more than half of the worlds population and it has ben found out that it is indeed boost energy and is healthy.

If you are familiar with the Mypyramid,gov of the USDA -- the site stipulated that people who are aged 9 through 50 and older should be able to consume three “ounce equivalents” of whole- grain foods daily

  • One (1) cup of brown rice gives two-thirds of the minimum RDA.
  • White rice like any other enriched grains is rich in folic acid -- this helps reduce birth defects.

Health benefits of Rice include

  1. it gives energy (boosts energy level). If you want to boost your energy, you eat rice as it is rich in Carbohydrates specially if your daily activities involves physical activity. Even if, you still need carbohydrates for your daily energy requirements
  2. it is good for digestive functioning-- this is because it contains substances which are easily digestible and protect your stomach from upsets
  3. helps in the maintenance of sugar levels -- it is carbohydrates but it helps in maintaining your sugar levels
  4. good source of Vitamin B1-- the thiamine vitamin -- Thiamine may enhance circulation of blood, it assists with blood formation plus metabolism of carbohydrates. It is also good for the nervous system
  5. good in maintaining blood pressure
  6. good for the heart
