EMMA KEYS RESTAURANT in Greensboro, North Carolina – A Restaurant Review

EMMA KEYS RESTAURANT is a locally owned and operated restaurant located on Walker Avenue in Greensboro, North Carolina. Emma Keys Restaurant is located in a neighborhood with several other businesses and many homes.

The street is often bustling, especially with many pedestrians walking their dogs for example.

  • We tried visiting EMMA KEYS RESTAURANT for the first time on a recent Sunday morning after church services.
  • It was late in the morning, so we considered our meal at Emma Keys Restaurant to be brunch/lunch. The food at Emma Keys Restaurant was very good. There are various food menu options for an enjoyable meal at Emma Keys Restaurant.

ATTRACTIONS dining and value guide includes a coupon for Emma Keys Restaurant

As our family is always enthusiastic to do, we used a coupon that offered us a generous discount of buy one entrée get one entrée free, up to $10 at Emma Keys Restaurant.

This coupon for Emma Keys Restaurant was obtained in a restaurant and other attractions coupon book named “Attractions”.

A small restaurant interior at Emma Keys Restaurant

The interior of Emma Keys Restaurant ended up being much smaller than we anticipated.

As you enter Emma Keys Restaurant, you can go straight to the counter to place your food order.

Then you’ll be given a printed table number to take with you to your table and place the table number to stand on your table. The table number will coincide with your food order number and an Emma Keys Restaurant wait staff person will bring your food order to your table.

The concept was efficient but the wait for the food was still quite long. This might also be because the small restaurant became quite full while we were there. The furnishings are old/vintage and there are just a few tables and chairs.

A bit cramped in Emma Keys Restaurant at the time that we went there

It really felt a bit cramped in Emma Keys Restaurant unfortunately. It was not until the interior of the restaurant was totally full, that people began electing to partake of the ample outdoor seating on patio furniture.

Sidewalk chalk for the kids at Emma Keys Restaurant

There were some cute and thoughtful little additions at Emma Keys Restaurant, such as a bucket of sidewalk chalk for children to play with, drawing on the ground/ cement outside.

My own children enjoyed using this sidewalk chalk for a few minutes, after we had finished our meal at Emma Keys Restaurant, had paid our bill, exited the restaurant’s interior and were about to leave.

The food was quite good at Emma Keys Restaurant

I did not particularly like the ambiance and the feeling while sitting to dine in the interior of this small and eclectic restaurant, Emma Keys Restaurant but the food was quite good.

Several people also picked up to-go food orders while we were sitting there. They did not stay to dine-in but they still had to wait for the food orders that they called in to be ready.

Burgers, fries, macaroni and cheese, and a salted caramel milkshake from Emma Keys Restaurant

The food that we enjoyed at Emma Keys Restaurant included burgers, fries, macaroni and cheese and a shared salted caramel milkshake. The milkshake costs between $4 and $5.

The salted caramel milkshake tasted fresh, flavorful and good but not fantastic. I have had even better tasting and more ‘memorable’ milkshakes at other restaurants. I would not necessarily order a milkshake from Emma Keys Restaurant again.

We shared everything

With our Emma Keys Restaurant coupon, we ordered two burger entrees, one with French fries as the side food item and the other with macaroni and cheese as the side food item. The burger patty for one burger was formed from a blend of ground pork and ground beef. The burger patty for the other burger that we ordered was just beef only. The burger entrees generally cost around $12 on average.

We shared everything up, enjoying a taste of everything. The burgers were tasty and made very well. The burgers were moist and flavorful but the bread that the burgers were served on was just ‘ok’.

The best tasting food item that we purchased at Emma Keys Restaurant

We were all in agreement that the best tasting food item that we purchased at Emma Keys Restaurant was the macaroni and cheese. Emma Keys Restaurant serves very, very good macaroni and cheese, served hot and delicious!

More mac and cheese, please

Although we did not order more, it was indeed tempting to consider placing a food order for even more macaroni and cheese to be brought to the table or taken out in a to-go container. If we had decided to do so, we could have ordered more macaroni and cheese at Emma Keys Restaurant at a cost of $2.50 per side order of macaroni and cheese.

Emma Keys Restaurant

Overall, dining at Emma Keys Restaurant was okay but not a particularly impressive experience. If my family and I were to return to Emma Keys Restaurant in the future, it would be to buy macaroni and cheese especially. That macaroni and cheese was indeed ‘memorable’ and we would keep it in mind – “Hey, remember Emma Keys Restaurant has great macaroni and cheese”.

Emma Keys Restaurant, located on Walker Avenue in Greensboro, North Carolina, serves great tasting macaroni and cheese as a food side order at a cost of $2.50.
