Erica's Tasty French Toast
Erica's Homemade French Toast
It is very simple to make homemade French Toast. I first learned as a child by watching my mom cook breakfast, and as I became older, I customized the recipe to fit my needs.
The ingredients that you will need are:
One egg,
1 tablespoon of butter, a loaf of bread,
1 teaspoon of cinnamon,
1 teaspoon of sugar,
2/3 cup of carnation milk a flat pan for cooking and a large bowl for mixing.
Once you have all of these ingredients mixed together, you slightly grease the pan with your 1 tablespoon of butter and ensure that everything is mixed well. After mixing, the contents together, ensure that the pan is hot and depending on the number of people who will be eating, will determine how many slices of bread you will use.
Let's say that I am cooking for two people; for myself and my son. I am going to be using eight slices of bread. My son has a pretty big appetite and so do I. Now, I dip the bread on both sides with the mixture and place it in the hot pan with the sizzling butter. I will know when to turn the bread over to the other side, once one side becomes golden brown. I then flip the French toast over to the other side until golden brown and repeat the process until all eight slices of bread are finished.
The difference in using carnation milk versus the 2% milk, is that it gives it a different flavor with a slight sweetness to it. After cooking all slices, you may top your French toast off with powdered sugar, or fruits, which is totally optional. You can now enjoy your homemade French toast.
