Ingredients

  • 1 ring farmer sausage
  • 1/2 cup apple, peeled and chopped
  • 1/4 cup onion, peeled and chopped
  • 1 can mushrooms
  • 1 pound bag sauerkraut
  • 1 pound noodles, homemade see below

Begin by Peeling the Casing From the Sausage

The casing will pull off and you can then slice the sausage crosswise into a number of small circles. The next step is to cut some onions. The frying pan will be used to add a bit of caramelizing and browning to the ingredients before they are placed in the Electric Crock pot for infusion of flavors.

The addition of a minced apple and a ripe pear, some mushrooms and some caraway seeds adds a good deal of flavor to the meat.

Next, the sauteed portion is placed into a crock pot and sauerkraut is added to the mix. It may be a little dry, so a cup of beef boullion water is added. If you desire to add a can of beer, this may be added now. You may substitute the beer for the water in the boullion.

Then, make some homemade noodles into small pieces, so that the final result will be like hard dumplings.

Mix all together and heat on warm in the slow cooker for 3 - 6 hours.

How to Make Homemade Noodles

In a bowl, put 1 cup of flour, a 1/2 tsp. salt and break an egg onto the flour. Start to stir. Put a couple tablespoons of water to moisten and stir. Add a little more water. You should end up with a ball.

As soon as it turns into a ball, put flour on a cutting board and put the ball of flour in it. Flip it over and then squish it flat. Take a pizza cutter and cut into small strips.

Boil some water and place the noodles into the boiling water until they float. Then, put the noodles into the crockpot.
