Traditional Kerala Style Fish Moilee

Ingredients

  1. Pearl Spot Fish (Karimeen) - 1 Kg
  2. Green Chilly - 6 Nos.
  3. Big Onion - 2 Nos. sliced
  4. Tomatoes - 2 Nos.
  5. Ginger - 1 Table Spoon (Julienne style)
  6. Garlic - 6 cloves
  7. Lemon Juice - 3 Table Spoon
  8. Curry Leaves - 10 Nos.
  9. Turmeric Powder - A Pinch
  10. Coconut Milk - 1 Cup
  11. Coconut Oil - 2 Table Spoon
  12. Salt - to Taste
  13. Mustard - 1 teaspoon

Preparation

  1. Marinate the fish with a pinch of turmeric, lemon juice and salt for half an hour.
  2. Heat the pan and pour the oil.
  3. When the oil is hot, put in the mustard seeds, sliced onion, ginger, garlic, green chilly and turmeric powder.
  4. Souté for 2 minutes.
  5. Now pour the coconut milk and add salt to taste.
  6. Wait until the milk is boiled.
  7. Now add the marinated fish.
  8. Cook for 15 - 20 minutes.
  9. Garnish with curry leaves and tomatoes.
