Fried Potato Clam Chowder And Chicken Soup, Easy Crockpot Soup.

Great soup on a cold winter day just warms your whole body. This is a hot and hardy soup and very easy to make.

The soup is made in the crockpot and can start it in the morning and just let it go.

Can or Bottle of clam sauce

Can of clams

1 can chicken broth

1 small carton heavy cream

1 chicken breast

1 lb. bacon

1 very large onion

potatoes

flour

parsley flakes

Salt and pepper

Fried Potato Clam Chowder And Chicken Soup.

1 can of clam sauce

1 can of clams

1 can of chicken broth

2 cups of cream

1 boneless chicken breast cut in squares

1 lb. bacon cut into small squares

1 very large onion

4 cups of cubed potatoes

¼ cup flour

¼ cup parsley flakes

Salt and pepper to taste

Put crockpot (slow cooker) on high place clam sauce, clams, cut up chicken, cream, salt, pepper and parsley flakes in cooker.

In a large frying pan place bacon cook on medium until somewhat brown then add chopped onions and cook until bacon is completely brown turning the onions and bacon the whole time so they don’t burn, add potatoes and fry until potatoes are brown around the edges.

Add ¼ cup of flour to potatoes and mix well.

Once potatoes are done you can drain but I don’t and then add bacon, onions and potatoes to the crock pot (slow cooker).

Cook on high for 2 hours then turn on low. I started this in the morning and cooked for 6 hours.

Note: If your in a hurry and want to eat sooner you can this soup taste good in 2 hours and by that time chicken is cooked though. Potatoes do not turn to mush In this receipe.

If you don't like clams you can always leave them out and make this soup with just chicken, add an extra can of chicken broth.

Deborah-Diane, Thank you for stopping by. I guess even in California you have to have soup. When we lived there and it got down to 45 we were cold here it's warm at 45 to us.

This recipe sounds perfect! Even though we don't live in the north, it can be damp and foggy here in Southern California, and I love hot soup on days like this.

Peggy W, In the north we make lots of soup anything to warm our bones. Thanks for the vote and sharing. The slow cooker is one of the best items for a kitchen they every came up with.

As we head towards the warmer months in the South, I think of using the slow cooker more often just so that we don't heat up the kitchen as much using the oven. This sounds like a great recipe! Will definitely keep it in mind and have to make it sometime. We love soups! Thanks for sharing it with us. Up votes & sharing.

I like to drink tea with soup - like your husband. I've never seen anybody else doing this.

This looks tasty. I'm not sure about ability to buy clam sauce in England - will look next time I am shopping.

I am adding this to my Recipe Index for HubPages.

      Cardisa,

Thanks, for visiting. No I don't make it for breakfast but my husband drinks coffee all day. I do not drink it all day one cup in the morning and that's enough for me.

It would be delicious as just a potato soup.

Looks delicious, I love bacon. I think I'll leave out the clams, maybe turn it into a potato bacon chowder. I don't like clams. I see you have a mug of coffee, do you make this for breakfast?

Interesting... clams with chicken mixture. Will try this out. All the clam chowders I have made are mostly clams and clam juice, except for bacon. Thanks for the hub!
