A Recipe for Frosting/IcingThe Cake High Calorie Intake
For Those Who Cannot Have It Without It
Yes I am talking about all of you out there, who love cake, but need that frosting as well.
Truly a good cake is complemented with the correctly balanced bit of frosting, however there are several cakes that are not traditionally, or should I say by the generally accepted norm, not iced, or as some say frosted.
However, I have often found that the frosting or icing, is used to cover and disguise or plain hides a number of bad bakes. The craters those the run across the cake like the grand canyon. The hollow at the top centre, which resembles an ancient meteor crash landing site.
No, frosting or icing, should be that delicate, subtle top layer that enhances and compliments the inner layers delicately textured moistness, that is the cake.
This is a quick and easy frosting
Ingredients
1 tub (250ml) smooth cream cheese, plain
1 cup (250ml) icing sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla essence
Method
Combine the ingredients and mix with a wooden spoon till smooth and creamy.
Keep in the refrigerator until you need to ice the cake.
Maintain Balance
We all have to restrict our calorie intake, and know that we should not skip a meal because of indulging in a bit of one or two of those forbidden items that are not on our carefully restricted and controlled eating list or plan.
The way to balance that indulgence, is to do a rough calorie count.
Lets say you consumed an extra 500 calories.
Your eating plan, has to be adhered to, so there is no way of skipping out a meal.
So what you can do is examine the ratio of fats, proteins, and starch of the meal ahead, and proportionally reduce it by a quarter all round.
What that does is it maintains the intake balance of the meal, and gives you a reduced calorific intake as well.
This will not always be enough to cover that indulgence, so you need to add an extra repetition to your daily exercise routine, or take a long run at a very brisk pace to help burn them off.
Or enjoy the cake and frosting, with your significant other, feeding each other in that romantic candle, or firelight. Then with some soft music (Jazz works for me), in the background, do what comes naturaly and you will burn off those extra calories.
Add a bit frosting to your life!
