Ice Cream or Gelato - Frozen and Delicious
It Looked Very Inviting
Gelato
I was watching Two and a Half Men one day and the two men in the sitcom were getting to know the boyfriend of their mother. The humor was that this man had taken the one brother out to a baseball game and had purchased gelato for him. Pretty funny because the brother is a grown man with a grown son.
Anyways, I got curious to know what gelato tasted like. My daughter and I had gone to Valleyfair in Shakopee and there was a Gelato stand there to try. Something stopped us from trying it. Perhaps it was too cold, perhaps the weather was too hot. Perhaps we had already eaten too much. Too much sun. At any rate, we passed on the Gelato.
Later - At the Grocery Store
I managed to find a container of Gelato. The flavor I picked out was a Raspberry Cheesecake flavor with a crumble coating.
My first spoonful was cautious. The first mouthful was of mostly cheesecake. The creamy taste of the cheesecake was there. My second spoonful included a Raspberry. The Raspberry was completely and perfectly formed. Cold. Frozen.
The crumble coating added to the flavor. It was all good.

Gelato
Gelato is the italian word for frozen. It sounds like there should be gelatin in my ice cream, but no it is simply frozen.
The gelato that I found in my supermarket came in several flavors. I have tried the caramel infused gelato and I have tried the raspberry cheesecake flavor. My preference is the caramel since the fruit is hard for me to chew. Ice cream is almost too cold for my crowns, so I may have to let you eat all the gelato... [smile]
