Germinating Sushi Rice for Snacking
Germinating Jar
Back in the day, my sister used to germinate alfalfa sprouts with a jar, alfalfa seeds from the coop, and some cheesecloth, water and a closed cabinet.
Back in the day. This is where I remember and giggle. I'm talking 1981, mind you.
Well. To celebrate her life, considering she passed away in 2005, at the age of 51, from cancer, I'm recreating the sprouting jar with sushi rice
So. What do you suppose will become of them? Do you have a prediction. I certainly do not. I'm just grasping at straws. I have read up on this subject, and they (others) do seem to have germinated rice, apparently brown rice ..
Sushi is white rice, so, wish me luck. I used the rest of the rice making sushi rolls, but had some left over.
Currently, the time is 2 pm. The temperature, due to wood heat, is probably 75 degrees. So. Time will tell.
