Hamburger Steak and Onion Gravy
Hamburger Steak and Onion Gravy
Hamburger Steak and Onion Gravy
This hamburger steak is easy to make and so is the gravy to go with it. I like to serve this with rice or mashed potatoes because the onion gravy is so very tasty and gives bland starches a "pop" of flavor. I cooked this tonight and served it with garlic mashed potatoes, green beans, corn on the cob, and sliced fresh tomatoes for a very filling, hearty, tasty, and colorful meal.
Hamburger Steak and Onion Gravy
Cook Time
Ingredients
- 4 1/3 lb frozen hamburger patties
- 2 medium sweet or Vidalia onions, thinly sliced in "O" rings
- 1 tsp black pepper
- 1 tsp salt
- 2 tbsp worcheshire sauce
- 1 tsp garlic, minced jar kind
- 2 tbsp oil, vegetable or canola
- 1 18 oz jar beef gravy
- 1 10 oz can cream of chicken mushroom soup
- 1 small can sliced mushrooms, optional
Directions
- In a large skillet, heat the oil along with the garlic, salt, and pepper.
- Add the frozen hamburger patties, onion slices, and worcheshire sauce. Cook on medium heat, covered, (flip burgers and stir onions periodically) until the burgers are done and the onions are soft.
- Remove the hamburgers from the skillet and set aside.
- Add the jar of gravy to the onion mixture in the skillet. Stir in well.
- Add the can of cream of chicken mushroom soup to the skillet. Stir in well. (You can add a drained can of sliced mushrooms if you like here too.)
- Add the burgers back to the gravy and simmer on low for about 10 minutes. Serve steak and gravy with rice or mashed potatoes. Delicious!
