The Health Benefits of Berries

Berries are just as healthy for you as they are tasty, these little super-wonders have amazing health benefits for helping to improve your physical and emotional well-being. I have also included in this hub a healthy, little recipe for a no-bake berry pie.

Berries have been used as a natural form of medicine for centuries. They have been known to help aide in the treatment of diseases and ailments such as, cancer, diabetes, thyroid issues, stomach troubles and even getting rid of skin diseases such as acne, age spots, some forms of skin cancer, eczema, etc......

Below I wrote about some of the health benefits of berries. I am not a doctor, so please, please discuss any medical changes you plan on making with your physician to see if it's a good choice for you.



Raspberry

Raspberries have so many great uses, you can even use the raspberry leaves steamed with some water to make a tea, for medicinal purposes. Raspberries are full of B, and C vitamins, manganese, the anti-aging agent, folic acid, magnesium, copper and iron.

Raspberries can be used as a detox to help cleanse the kidney and liver, help fight anemia, they can even help with mild cases of impotence.

The raspberry leaves helps treat diarrhea, sore throat, mouth sores, eczema, hemorrhoids, they can even be used for easing menstrual pains.

Strawberry

Strawberries are packed full of immune strengthening vitamin C, ellagic acid, quercetin, iron which is good for your blood and so many other cancer fighting nutrients.

Strawberries can be used for curing gout, hypertension, rheumatic, diabetes even weight loss.
They can even be used for helping you get a clearer complexion, because of their purifying properties.

Blueberry

Blueberries are full of anthocyanins flavonoids, potassium, beta-carotene, which is good for strengthening your eyes and so many other nutrients and vitamins.

Blueberries can be used for helping to heal eye problems such as, night blindness, glaucoma, astigmatism, headaches, and intestinal issues like, diarrhea, gas, vomiting and the list goes on and on. There are so many wonderful health benefits of blueberries.

Berry Pie Recipe

A very healthy, easy to make, no-bake berry pie.

Ingredients

  • 2 Cups Mixed berries, cleaned and drained
  • 3 Tbsp Hazelnut spread, I use nutella
  • 2 Whole-wheat 10 inch tortillas
  • 1 Pizza pan

Instructions

  1. Lay one of your tortillas on your pizza pan.
  2. Spread out your hazelnut spread, until you have covered your tortilla.
  3. Add your berries, make sure you spread them evenly across your tortilla.
  4. Put your second tortilla on top of the fruit, slice and enjoy.
