Healthy Smoothie Recipes; Easy Blueberry, Vegetable, Vegan Smoothies and More

Updated on July 20, 2015

Why Smoothies?

Smoothies are a great choice to choose because there are delicious yet healthy. Instead of having that bag of chips or stack of "Pringles," have a equally as delicious smoothie drink. There are so many different options to choose from, whether you are a vegan, a vegetarian, or lactose and tolerant, there are so many smooth recipes to choose from.

All of these take about...

Prep time: 6 min
Cook time: 1 min
Ready in: 7 min
Yields: 1 cup

Basic strawberry Smoothie

This smoothie is the most basic smoothie, it only contains 2 items. It is so good, healthy, and easy. It would be great for a breakfast drink as it is light so it can go with any meal. I love to have this smoothie with some pancakes or waffles! It is made of about 6-7 relatively small strawberries, or 4-5 large strawberries, and 3 very large scoops of plain Greek Yogurt. This was the first smoothie I ever made and tat was 4 years ago, I still make it to this day.

What you will need:

  • 6-7 relatively small strawberries or 4-5 Large Strawberries
  • 1/2 cup of Plain Greek Yogurt (I use Chobani)

Directions:

Firs what you want to do is just place the strawberries and Greek Yogurt out on the counter/table. Clean the strawberries by washing them and cutting off the top of the strawberries. Then just put the strawberries to blend in the blender, I use the ninja blender. Keep it blending until the strawberries look like a soupy drink. Next place the Greek Yogurt in the cup with the strawberries. Blend again for about 20 "Mississippi" seconds. You may count or just remove from the blender when the smoothie has turned a lighter pink and has no clumps in it. Then enjoy!

Raspberry Vanilla Smoothie

Making this smoothie is super easy and healthy! All I did was add some raspberries, vanilla greek yogurt and vanilla almond milk to my blender, give it a whirl and you have this thick, tasty drink! This drink is gluten-free, but you can make it vegan by adding a vegan yogurt, like coconut yogurt. This smoothie is creamy, sweet and has the perfect blend of raspberries. Not to mention, the color is just so beautiful.

Vegan Smoothie

For all you vegans out there here is the perfect delicious and easy smoothie for you. There is always the usual banana and strawberry nonsense out there, but this is truly unique. It tastes amazing and is so good, yet has amazing nutrients and is so healthy!

What You Will Need:

  • 1 cup blueberries
  • 1/2 banana
  • 1 cup almond milk
  • 3 ice cubes
  • 1 spoonful of organic crunchy peanut butter

Directions:

Just blend it all together and enjoy!

Vegan smoothie!

The Typical Berry Smoothie

As said in the name, this is the typical smoothie. Now I know what you are thinking, then why did you add it? Although it is an old recipe it is still a very good recipe. This smoothie should be known by everyone out there, especially smoothie lovers. This is very basic, however, is very delicious.

What you will need:

  • 1/4 cup Blueberries
  • 1/4 cup Blackberries
  • 1/4 cup Raspberries
  • 2 Large Strawberries
  • 1/4 Cup Vanilla Yogurt
  • 1 1/2 Cups 2% Milk

Directions:

Place all of the berries in the blender first if you are using a Magic Bullet or Ninja Blender. If you are using a regular blender then you will reverse the order. Add the Yogurt and then the Milk. Blend until well blended and pour into your favorite glass.

Diabetic Oatmeal Smoothie!

This smoothie, although great for a Diabetic person, can be drunken by anyone. It is delicious and filling and is great for the mornings. It is very healthy and is just absolutely a great choice if you want to stay healthy. It is fast and easy and stabilizes blood sugar with a food such as oats. Which makes it easier to keep blood sugar levels under control all day long. Oats and flax-seed are both high in dietary fiber and they also provide several vitamins and minerals. Also, oatmeal is a fat-free, cholesterol-free and sodium-free food.

What you will need:

  • 1 cup uncooked oats (ground in spice grinder, coffee grinder, or food processor)
  • 2 banana (cut into small chunks first)
  • 3 cup skim milk
  • 2 Tbsp ground flax-seed
  • sugar substitute
  • 2 tsp. coffee extract (optional)

Directions:

Just blend all together!

Workout Smoothie

You always need two things after a hard workout, carbohydrates and Protein. Carbohydrates replenish your glycogen levels in the muscles that were just trained. Protein is needed to build muscles. 20 grams is the best amount of post workout protein to maximize muscle growth. This serves two large glasses and one toddler cup. I use a regular blender and this blends well, so here you go!

What you will need:

  • 2-3 cups Organic Spinach
  • 1 cup Strawberries
  • 1 cup Blueberries
  • 1/2 Banana, chopped
  • 1 cup Unsweetened Vanilla Almond Milk
  • 1 cup non-fat Greek Yogurt
  • 1 tbsp Flaxseed Oil
  • 1/2 cup Good Belly Probiotic Juice Drink - Blueberry Acai Flavor
  • 2 scoops Protein Powder (optional)

Directions:

Just blend away and enjoy!

Blueberry Almond Smoothies

This smoothie is the only smoothie I know how to do that contains almonds or even nuts in general. This smoothie is pretty basic but contains lots of good things in it. It would be great as a breakfast meal, just add some toast! You can put strawberries instead of blueberries, or blackberries instead of blueberries, depending on what you have at home. What ever you put in this drink, it will remain delicious! As a bonus it is also really great for weight loss! The protein in the the nuts will fill you up, however, it does not have so much calories. Enjoy!

What you will need:

  • Two handfuls of blueberries
  • One small handful of whole raw almonds
  • One large handful of spinach
  • 1/2 banana, sliced
  • 1/3 cup nonfat Greek yogurt
  • 1/2 cup water
  • honey, optional
