Twix Candy Bar Recipe

Updated on March 2, 2012
Source

Twix candy bars are an amazing treat. They have the crunchiness and the sweetness, how could it get any better? Well it can because you can make them yourself! I have a recipe that takes a while in time but the outcome is great because you get a twix bar out of it! You can use dark chocolate or milk whichever kind you like. The thing I love about recipes is that you can make them your own, add your favorite ingredients and try out your own way to do it. This is my favorite way to make twix candy bars I hope you enjoy it! Please leave your feedback below. Thanks for reading:)

Heres how to do it♥

Ingredients:

2 sticks of butter

1/2 cup of granulated sugar

2 1/2 cups of all purpose flour

1/2 teaspoon of salt

1 large bag of caramel candy (unwrapped)

2 1/2 tablespoons of heavy cream

1 large bag of semi-sweet chocolate chips

Directions:

Preheat the oven to 350 degrees. First we need to make the cookie base, grab a 13X9 pan and line it with foil (over handles) and spray it with cooking spray also. Next beat butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy. Slowly beat in flour and salt make sure everything is blended well. Place mixture onto the pan and press down into an even layer. Bake for 10 minutes and flip your first layer then bake another 10 minutes. A light brown color should be your finished product be careful not to overcook! Let your first layer cool. Once your first layer has cooled melt your caramel and heavy cream in a microwave safe bowl. Stir every thirty seconds until melted and smooth. Carefully add caramel on top of your first layer and smooth it out. Then refridgerate for an hour and a half so caramel can set. Now you will need to melt your chocolate chips in a microwave safe bowl after the caramel has set. Remove the caramel-covered bars from the pan by using the foil as handles. Cut the bars and make them about a finger wide and a finger long. Then you will need to get a fork or spoon and dip each bar into the melted chocolate (if you don't want to dip individual bars you can just pour the chocolate over your bars). When done dipping into chocolate refridgerate again for about twenty minutes. Then serve!

I hope you enjoyed the recipe it is a little time consuming but I promise you it's worth it! Thanks for reading:)
