How to Make Banana Pancakes: 3 Healthy Recipes
Delicious Banana Pancake Recipes
Banana fruit is rich in vitamins, potassium and antioxidants. It also aids in digestion due to its high dietary fiber concentrate. This fruit can be consumed either as a whole fruit, in fruit salad, as a smoothie and as a pancake.
Several ingredients added to ripe bananas can be used to make delicious banana pancakes. Here are some of my favorite banana pancake recipes.
1) Protein Rich Banana Pancakes
Ingredients
- 1 cup all-purpose wheat flour
- 1 cup milk
- 1 egg
- 2 bananas
- 4 spoons sugar
- 4 spoons cooking oil
Preparation Method
- Mix flour and sugar in a bowl. Break the egg, add to the mixture and stir well.
- Mash the banana with a fork or dice into small pieces and add to the mixture.
- Add cooking oil and milk to the mixture, the blend all ingredients for 2 minutes.
- Pour sizable portions on a pan and allow cooking on both sides.
- Serve with a warm beverage.
Special Instructions
- Use low fat milk for a healthier meal.
- Use corn or sunflower oil.
- You can drop eggs from the recipe but ensure you butter your pan – it’s the egg that makes the pancake to cook without sticking on the pan.
2) Low Calorie Flourless Banana Pancakes
Ingredients
- 2 Eggs
- 2 ripe bananas
- 2 teaspoons Baking Powder
- 2 tablespoon Maple syrup
- Butter
Preparation Method
- Break the eggs and mix well with baking powder in a bowl.
- Marsh the bananas until smooth then add the banana marsh and maple syrup to the bowl.
- Stir well or blend all contents.
- Heat a little butter (2 tablespoons) on your non sticky pan.
- Pour small portions of your mixture and allow both sides to cook for like 2 minutes
- Enjoy your healthy pancake.
Special Instructions
- Ensure the egg mix is enough to hold the banana mash.
- Cook small portions at a time, they are easy to manage.
3) Whole Grain Banana Pancakes
Ingredients
- 1 cup whole wheat flour
- ¼ cup oat meal
- ¼ cup almond meal
- 1 cup milk
- 1 egg
- 2 ripe bananas
- 2 teaspoon baking powder
- Butter
Preparation Method
- Mix whole wheat flour, oat meal, almond meal and baking powder in one bowl. Beat the egg, add to the mixture and stir well.
- Mash the bananas till smooth then add to the bowl. Add the milk to the mixture and mix well or blend all contents together.
- Heat ¼ cup of butter on a non-sticky pan. Spread small portions of the mixture and cook both sides for about 5 minutes or until they brown.
- Serve with maple syrup.
Special Instructions
- You can replace banana with 2-3 tablespoons of sugar.
- For low calorie diet, use low fat milk.
- Butter can be replaced with olive oil.
