If you are looking for ways to use up some of those fall apples, this recipe on how to make applesauce may be just what you're looking for ! It is very easy to make applesauce, and when canned it can be stored for years.


3 pounds of apples (sweet)

1/2 cup of sugar

2 cup of water

First of all you want to peel your apples. Wash them, core the apples, quarter and dice. Put everything into a pot, and simmer for 20 minutes or until soft. Stir every once in awhile.

Homemade Applesauce Recipe

Put the apple mixture into a blender or food processor, blend until you get the consistency you desire for you applesauce.

To can, use the hot pack method. Add your mixture to the jars making sure to leave half an inch from the top. Process in a water bath for 20 minutes at 212 degrees.

Place on a towel, and leave until cool.

Yield 6 quarts.
