How to Make Baby Homemade Organic Rice Cereal
Making Organic Rice Cereal
In a day and age when so much of our food is processed many people are looking for alternatives to making healthy food. Baby food is no exception. Even our fruits and vegetables are no longer safe from chemicals and insecticides. It's very easy and cost effective to make homemade rice cereal. You can buy organic whole grain rice to be used to make your rice cereal. You can also add fruits or vegetables to your rice cereal. Just throw some bananas, apples, strawberries, whatever you want your baby to eat into a blender until there are no chunks. If your baby is a little older you can leave small chunks of fruit in it. This help them learn how to chew.
You can purchase rice cereal that is labeled organic, but make sure to read the label and see what else is added into the rice cereal. It may be organic, but there can also be other additives and preservatives which are not healthy for your baby. Some companies even add sugar.
What you need to make organic baby rice cereal:
2 cups of water
1 cup rice of your choice
1 quart pan
wooden or plastic spoon
blender or bullet
Put one cup of rice in a blender for two minutes. Put two cups of water in a pan and boil. Add your ground up rice to the boiling water, stir in and cook undisturbed for 10 minutes. It will turn into a smooth consistency. Make sure to let it cool down before you feed it to your baby. If it gets to thick just add a little formula or breast milk to it.
