Iced Coffee Recipe
Save Money: Make Your Own Delicious Iced Coffee at Home
I love iced coffee in the morning. Especially in the spring and summer. But stopping at the local designer coffee outlet (e.g. Starbuck's, Gloria Jean's, even McDonald's) adds up quickly and puts a large hole in the family budget. So I decided to start making my own and what a difference it's made! Instead of spending $4 -$5 a day on coffee treats, I spend less than that in a week!
Here's what you'll need to start making delicious iced coffee at home:
Ingredients
1 cup water
4 -6 tsp instant coffee (depending on how strong you like it)
4 - 6 tsp sugar (depending how sweet you like it)
3/4 tsp vanilla extract
1 cup skim milk
4 pumps chocolate syrup
Whipped cream (from spray can) (optional)
Chocolate syrup to drizzle on top (optional)
2 cup, glass, liquid measuring cup
Instructions
In glass measuring cup, bring 1 cup water to a boil in microwave (about 2 minutes). Add all ingredients except milk. My original recipe called for 4 tsp of chocolate syrup, but I find it easier to just tip the bottle of syrup over the measuring cup and squeeze. Stir to blend well. Add milk. Stir again until well-blended. Place measuring up of ingredients in freezer for 30-45 minutes.
Add desired amount of ice to large tumbler and add coffee. Top with cream and chocolate drizzle if you prefer. Enjoy!
