If you are driving on HWY 70 about 26 miles south/west of Chico California, you will run across a little town called Oroville. It has a number of wonderful attributes including a micro brewery, golf courses, a beautiful lake and some quaint eateries. However down town you will find TJ's Mug Shots, one very special spot that you must pull off of the highway to indulge yourself. It is a small historical site that harbors a standard loved by all comers, and the locals just can't keep their hands off of the delights inside the joint!

TJ is really the owner/operator and is one of the nicest, most talented barista's you will find in Northern California. He is usually on hand any weekend to personally whip up any number of tasty coffee treats to quench your thirst, dazzle your taste buds or beef-up your lagging energy. The coffee drinks are well thought out recipes that you should NOT miss. TJ is a handsome young entrepreneur devoted to his art and to his city. His good nature and gracious smile all add up to the ambiance of an inviting location open to every lifestyle imagined! Bring your laptop, a book or your friends and relax while enjoying some of the best coffee and bakery treats around. My favorite is the Mexican, a rich chocolate coffee with a sweet cinnamon decadence that wows with every sip (available cold blended or hot brewed, either way it is a real gift any time of the day!)

Most of the baked goods are done on site. What isn't made on site at Mug Shots is brought in daily from ridiculously good supplier bakery's, nothing mass produced here my friends. TJ has been known to put-together some awesome sandwich and soup combos on site as well. The tomato-basil soup is sinfully yummy! If you add an Italian soda (made as you watch) to your meal, you won't be disappointed, as the combination of staggering flavors would seem to arrive directly from the streets in Catania, Italy (the Sicily region).

While sitting in the quaint location, you will enjoy the eclectic variety of local artists work surrounding you on every wall. Everything from the quirky 3D style works by Whirlwind, or the retro style of India Dee who presents a more modern digital artist view of her photography. Any number of local artists will find their work on TJ's walls now and again, none are to be missed! All are available for sale (unless otherwise noted) so if you fall in love with any one piece or the entire series by an artist, you can actually make it your very own.

On some occasions you will find live music at Mug Shots, an evening delight for a first date starter or a night out with your long-time love. No matter if you are an early riser who is looking for the best morning caffeine fix or a passer by on your way to some far away adventure, you will want to swing by TJ's Mug Shots for a moment or for hours.
