This recipe is so simple anyone can enjoy homemade bread in just 45 minutes. Notice the recipe calls for self rising flour. It will not work with just regular enriched flour. If you do not have self rising flour you can make your own by adding 1 1/2 tsp. baking powder and 1/2 tsp. salt to every cup of regular enriched flour.

Thanks for clearing that up! Can't wait to try this.. I can see why it would work I think. It has things in it that you would usually use to make bread, like fat and sugar. Not sure what acts as the yeast, but maybe the sugar reacts with the baking powder, and somehow does that function.

      Thanks for sharing this.

Sorry if I was unclear. Ice cream and flour (self rising) are the two ingredients. What I meant by any flavor is that you could use vanilla, or chocolate, or butter pecan, or strawberry, etc.

It seems strange that you can make bread with just these two ingredients, but it does work! :)

      Thanks for your comment. :)

Wow, sounds very cool indeed! But I'm in the UK and have no idea what ice cream flavour is. Is it for when you make your own ice cream? Is it a kind of powder? Sorry for my ignorance. :)

Ha ha, sorry I just re-read this. Do you just mean add ice cream? (Rather than a mythical thing I might have just invented called "ice cream flavour").

Is it just flour and ice cream?? Sounds amazing if so...

Wow, that's the coolest thing I've ever heard of! An ice cream bread. I will have to try this some time. My husband loves mint chocolate chip.
