My Favorite Cookie Recipes
My Favorite Cookie's
My favorite cookies are the one's my grandmother and I would bake when I was younger. Still do this day I can't even find a cookie that compares to my grandmother's. The ways of life today are more fast passed and no one takes the time like way back when to bake from scratch. I wanted to share her recipes with you so you can taste the way cookies should taste. I hope you enjoy these wonderfull recipes.
Peanut Butter Cookie Recipe
You will need two seperate bowls for this recipe. In the first bowl your going to want to mix together the following ingredients:
1/2 cup of soft shortening or a 1/2 cup of butter
1/2 cup of peanut butter
1/2 cup of sugar
1/2 cup of brown sugar
1 egg
Mix the above ingredients together in a bowl. In the other bowl you'll want to mix the following:
1 1/4 cups of sifted flour
1/2 tsp. of baking powder
3/4 tsp. of baking soda
1/4 tsp. of salt
Mix these in the bowl together, you should now have a bowl of dry ingredients and a bowl of wet ingredients. Now take your dry ingredients and gradly pour it into your wet ingredients until the dry ingredients is gone. Mix the ingredients together until totally combined.
When ingredients is combined together take and put bowl in fridge until dough is chilled, when chilled take dough and roll it into little ball sizes, Place Balls on a lightly greased cookie sheet 3" apart, flatten with a fork that's been lightly floured when you press the ball flat with the fork you want to criss cross so you have what looks like a plus sign,Pre heat oven and bake cookies at 375 degree's for about 10 to 12 mins. Bake cookies until there set but not hard, when you pull cookies out let cool. Also as a little extra you can press a chocolate Hershey kiss in the middle.
I hope you enjoy your cookies. I know this is a recipe I love especially the added chocolate kiss for taste.
Chocolate Chip Cookie Recipe
I have to say this is my all time favorite cookie especially fresh and hot out of the oven with a tall glass of milk. This recipe requires two seperate bowls as well. You will need to mix the following ingredients for these delicious cookies:
In a bowl you will need to mix together
1/2 cup of shortening or butter
3/4 cup of sugar( make it half sugar and half brown sugar)
1 egg
1 tsp. vanilla extract
In the second bowl you will need to mix the following:
1 1/8 cup of sifted flour
1/4 tsp. of baking soda
1/2 tsp. of salt
One 7 oz package of chocolate chips.
When you have mixed your wet mixture together gradually mix in your dry ingredients until gone, mix ingredients well. On a lightly greased cookie sheet drop a rounded teaspoonfull of ingredients about 2" apart. Pre heat oven to 375 degree's, bake for 8 to 10 mins. Remove from oven and let cool. Only bake until cookies are browned but still soft.
Chocolate chip cookies have always been my favorite and what's cool about this recipe is if you want to just have sugar cookies don't add the chocolate chips.
