New Mexico Salsa Recipe
New Mexico Plate with Fresh Salsa
Easy Salsa recipe!
Salsa to your family's taste!
Four garden ripe red tomatoes cored with much of the juice gently squeezed out. Chop the tomatoes.
One fresh jalapeno pepper. Chopped into small pieces. USE GLOVES to slice and remove seeds. The more seeds you leave in the hotter the salsa will be! If your family is not use to hot foods remove all the seeds the first time! The flavor of a jalapeno is very fresh and nice. (Hint: I use those throw away gloves found in the dollar stores.)
1/4 cup of chopped onions
1-2 mashed/chopped garlic cloves, again to the taste of your family!
1/2 cup of fresh cilantro (or you can use those handy little Knorr MiniCubes of cilantro) Hint: cilantro is a flavor that you like or do not like. Some people think it tastes like soap! So, do a taste test for your self and your family. Using cilantro makes it more New Mexico authentico, though!
1 tablespoon of lime This is VERY important!
salt and pepper
Gently combine.
Let this sit for at least 15-minutes and gently stir again. Enjoy!
