Papaya Wine

Ingredients
1. Papaya : 1 kg
2. Sugar : 1 kg
3. Yeast : 30 g
4. Water : 1 litre
Preparation and Cooking
1. Peel the skin and remove the seeds of papaya and boil them in a closed vessel for 10 minutes with sugar and water.
2. Cool the cooked pulp and squeeze them to take the juice.
3. Filter it through a muslin cloth and transfer into a ceramic jar.
4. Add 30 g of yeast, stir well and tie the mouth of the jar tightly with a clean, double folded cloth.
5. Keep the jar in a dry place for 2 weeks.
6. After 2 weeks, open the jar and filter the contents through a clean, double folded cloth.
7. Keep the filtrate as such for another 2 months in a clean, capped glass bottle with its mouth closed.
8. Wine will be ready by that time and it looks like a clear liquid with a pale yellow colour.
Mango Wine

Ingredients
1. Mango (Alphonso) - 12 nos.
2. Sugar - 1 kg
3. Yeast - 30 g
4. Water - 1 litre
Preparation and Cooking
1. Boil the mango pulp in a closed vessel for 10 minutes with water.
2. Cool the cooked pulp and squeeze them to take the juice.
3. Filter it through a muslin cloth and transfer into a ceramic jar.
4. Add 1 kg of sugar and 30 g of yeast and tie the mouth of the jar tightly with a clean, double folded cloth.
5. Keep the jar in a dry place for 2 weeks.
6. After 2 weeks, open the jar and filter the contents through a clean, double folded cloth.
7. Keep the filtrate as such for another 2 months in clean, capped glass bottles with their mouth closed.
8. Wine will be ready by that time and it looks like a clear liquid.
Orange Wine

Gooseberry Wine

Ingredients
1. Gooseberry - 1 kg
2. Sugar - ½ kg
3. Jaggery - ¼ kg
4. Boiled water - 2 ½ cups
5. Cinnamon - 5 pieces
6. Cloves - 10 nos.
Preparation and Cooking
1. Wash and clean the gooseberries with water. Keep aside.
2. Mix ½ kg of sugar and ¼ kg of jaggery and transfer it into a ceramic jar.
3. Add the gooseberries into the jar and mix well with the sugar-jaggery mixture.
4. Then add 2 ½ cups of boiled water, cinnamon pieces and cloves into the jar and stir well.
5. Tie the mouth of the jar tightly with a clean cloth.
6. Keep it in a clean, dry atmosphere for the next 40 days.
7. After that, open the jar and filter the contents through a clean, double folded cloth.
Beet root Wine

Ingredients
1. Beet root - 1 kg
2. Sugar - 1 kg
3. Yeast - 30 g
4. Water - 1 litre
5. Lemon juice - 2 tsp
Preparation and Cooking
1. Peel the skin of beet roots and slice them into small pieces.
2. Boil them in a closed vessel with sugar and water for 15 minutes.
3. Cool the mixture and filter it using a clean muslin cloth.
4. Add 2 tsp of lemon juice into this filtrate.
5. Then transfer the whole mixture into a ceramic jar and add sugar and yeast.
6. Tie the jar tightly with a clean, double-folded cloth. Keep it in a humid free atmosphere.
7. Open the jar after 2 weeks and stir the contents well with a dried wooden spoon.
8. After that, filter the contents through a clean cloth.
9. Keep the filtrate as such for another 1 ½ months in the same jar with its mouth closed. No need of stirring.
10. Wine will be ready by that time and it looks like a clear and fresh liquid. Try it!

Pineapple wine is an appropriate diet for young kids as well as adults. It is rich in magnesium and is extremely good for your bones and for stronger muscles. Its higher fibre content plays a role in reducing cholesterol. It is diuretic also.

1. Pineapples - 1kg
2. Sugar - 2kg
3. Yeast - 2 tbsp
4. Water - 2 litres
Preparation and Cooking
1. Clean the pineapples and slice them into small pieces.
2. Boil them in a closed vessel with sugar and water for 5 minutes.
3. Cool the mixture and add 2 tbsp of yeast. Mix well.
4. Then transfer the whole mixture into a ceramic jar and tie it tightly with a clean cloth.
5. Open the jar and stir the contents well with a dried wooden spoon every day.
6. Repeat the stirring for 3 weeks. After that, filter the contents through a clean, double folded cloth.
7. Keep the filtrate as such for another 3 weeks in the same jar with its mouth closed. No need of stirring.
8. Wine will be ready by that time and it looks like a clear and fresh liquid. If you need colour, you can add 2 tbsp of melted sugar (caramel) that gives a light brown colour to the wine.
