Palm Springs area-Palm Desert

If you enjoy vacationing in an area that SHOUTS out--Fun, Food,Fabulous music--then the Palm Springs area is the answer to your dreams! From the Follies featureing dancers and vocalists of a September age (50ish and up) to fine restaurants, bars and a casino to lose your last paycheck, This is the place for you!

Celebrating our anniversary last month was a week long adventure. Each night we chose a different restaurant to eat and Sullivan's Steak House was the surprise Gary had planned for me. He wouldn't tell me here we were going. Just opened my car door and helped me inside, turned the key in the ignition and started driving.

He finally pulled up and parked in what looked like a shopping mall (that was under construction) and we began walking toward an escalator that took us upstairs and finally, I saw the big sign- Sullivan's Steak House. He then led me into the bar where a jazz band was softly playing and most of the tables were filled with people enjoying the music and Happy Hour drinks. They insist they have the best hand-shaken martini's in town or perhaps in the world! We don't drink Martini's so I can't vouch for that advertisement.

Steaks are great!

We decided to eat in the lounge area with the music and we were not disappointed. Steaks were grilled to perfection, lobster looked great at the next table (we passed on it) and our drinks were exceptional.

The Martini's looked really pretty, however, Gary chose a beer, which came in a huge tall glass and I prefer a Margarita--it was also pretty huge!

I certainly hope we will return to Sullivan's next time we are in the Palm Desert area!

Happy Aniversary
