5 stars from 1 rating of Peach Crumble

I created this recipe after I found I had peaches languishing in the refrigerator. You can also use canned peaches with good results.

Prep time: 10 min
Cook time: 1 hour 30 min
Ready in: 1 hour 40 min
Yields: 9x9 pan
  • 5 peaches, large
  • 1/3 cup flour
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 tsp nutmeg
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp ginger
  • 1/4 cup butter, melted
  • 1/4 cup spiced rum or water
  • Topping Ingredients:
  • 3/4 cup oats
  • 1/2 cup flour
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 tsp nutmeg
  • 1/2 tsp cinnamon
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1 stick butter
  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit.
  2. Slice peaches; remove pits.
  3. Mix peaches, 1/3 cup flour,1 cup brown sugar, 1/2 tsp nutmeg, 1 tsp cinnamon, 1/4 tsp ginger, 1/4 cup butter melted, and 1/4 cup spiced rum or water. Pour into a 9x9 baking dish.
  4. Mix 3/4 cup oats, 1/2 cup flour, 1/2 cup brown sugar, 1/2 tsp nutmeg, 1/2 tsp cinnamon, 1 tsp baking powder, and 1 stick butter using a pastry blender until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Sprinkle evenly over filling.
  5. Bake for 1 to 1 1/2 hours or until filling is set and top is golden brown. Serve hot with cream.
