Classic Piña Colada

Green Piña Colada Smoothie

Greens are a super healthy addition to any smoothie, in my opinion, providing great opportunity for adding nutrients to your diet in a delicious way. By blending up these raw greens, the blender does the work of breaking down the tough leaves so they're more efficiently absorbed by our bodies. All ingredients in this smoothie, from the bananas to the pineapple to the coconut to the greens provides a healthy source of vitamins and minerals that come together in a smoothie that is as good for you as it tastes.

Ingredients for Green Pina Colada Smoothie

a 13.5-oz can of coconut milk
1 banana
4 cups fresh pineapple or frozen pineapple chunks (unsweetened)
1/2 bunch of kale or collard greens, stems removed (4-5 large leaves)
a few pieces of ice, if you want it chilled

Method

Blend all ingredients on high settings. Start at the blender's lowest speed setting and work your way up to the highest setting until the smoothie is well blended. Add cold water if the mixture is too thick and blend until desired consistency is achieved. Pour into a tall glass and enjoy!

Optionally, add a mint leaves to the smoothie. Creamy coconut milk, banana, pineapple, and mint come together with fresh spinach. The resulting a drink will remind you of summer. The good news it's as delicious as it is healthy and green!
