Polish Hamburgers
Directions
Growing up, Polish hamburgers were my absolute fav. They are a perfect cross between a boring standard American burger and a falafel.
Ingredients:
1 lb ground beef
2 slices of wunderbread
1 egg
1 small onion
Step 1. Dice the onion, and place into mixing bowl with defrosted ground beef
Step 2. Wet wunderbread with water until moderately damp. Then tear it up into small clumps and add to mixing bowl.
Step 3. Mix ingredients thoroughly.
Step 4. Knead mixture into little patties about the size of a WhiteCastle burger.
Step 5. Pour two tablespoons of oil into a small frying pan, throw in patties.
Step 6. Cook on medium for about twenty minutes. Don’t forget to flip!
Step 7. Enjoy!
Traditionally, Polish Hamburgers are served without a bun, like you would a piece of meat loaf. But since these guys aren’t exactly Atkins friendly, go nuts. I enjoy mine smothered in ketchup with sweet peas, mash potatoes, coleslaw, and a dill pickle washed down with a cheap domestic beer.-Steve
